Here’s a simple geometry puzzle that is easiest to solve by drawing it out.
Given the following set of dots, how many squares can you make by connecting four dots together? The corners of each square must lie on a dot. Assume all of the dots are evenly spaced.
The solution is below. Take your time to solve this one! If you peek early, you hurt no one but yourself. Once you look, the problem is gone forever.
If you’re stuck, try drawing the dots and making as many squares as you can. That helped me solve this one.
You can make 11 squares within these dots! Let’s start with the five you probably saw right away.
We can get four more by looking for diagonal squares.
